Women’s 2s in close game with Southampton

Women's 2s made the journey on a cold and frosty day to Southampton, in the hope the pitch would thaw.

The 1st quarter started slowly with some ping pong hockey from both sides. Hawks built into the quarter and finished with a cheeky goal from Tiny with the final touch of the quarter.

2nd quarter was a bit more wobbly with Southampton coming out more strongly. Hawks found it hard to string simple passes together. Two goals were conceded leaving it 2-1 at half time.

3rd quarter Hawks dominated and put the opposition under significant pressure. Unfortunately unable to convert the chances created.

4th quarter saw an early lucky goal for the oppo unfortunately leading to 3-1. Hawks responded and kept pushing for the points. With some slick passing leading to Kathryn and Tiny sharing the 2nd hawks goal.

The game ended 3-2 which was a shame but lots to build on as the team continue into the second half of the season.
