Flyerz Hockey
Flyerz Hockey is the name for disability inclusive hockey across the UK. It concentrates on having fun, learning new skills, making friends and promotes an active and healthy lifestyle. The lead coach is Colin Burrell.
In partnership with Access Sport, Oxford Hawks Hockey Club have introduced Flyerz hockey into its hockey offering, which started with a kick off month in June 2021 and is now a part of our Sunday morning programme, from 9.45-10.30am! It will provide hockey sessions for people with pan-disabilities and involves a variety of activities, exercise and most importantly fun. There is absolutely no hockey experience needed, all you need to bring is enthusiasm.
What is Flyerz Hockey?
Flyerz Hockey started in 2012 alongside London hosting the Paralympics. Th e provision of Flyerz Hockey is supported by Access Sport and England Hockey.

How to get involved
Our Flyerz training is EVERY SUNDAY MORNING from 9.45 - 10.30am and we are on the look out for more players! There is absolutely no hockey experience needed and we welcome anyone to come along, get to know us and have some fun. If you are interested in joining or would like more information about our sessions, please email junior-coaching@oxfordhawks.co.uk. Please also feel free to pass this information on to anyone you think interested!
The membership for the season (24 sessions) is £100 for the Flyerz player, with any other family members wanting get involved being able to play for FREE!
As with all Junior activities, we have the Oxford Hawks Foundation which is there to ensure finance is not a barrier to getting on to the pitch. Please get in touch for more information.
Volunteer
Volunteers are key to this programme and we would love for you to join our Oxford Hawks Flyerz team. We are looking for volunteers as coaches, first aiders, carers, fundraisers and anyone handy with their hands. Also any of our junior members looking for their DofE or Sports Leader volunteering are very welcome! We are providing workshops to support you and in return would really appreciate your support in making Flyerz Hockey at Oxford Hawks a success.
