Oxford Hawks Women’s 3’s vs Marlow 3’s – 12.10.24

It was a grey and miserable day and the first half reflected the gloom

We spent most of the first half in their D without much luck but plenty of chances. Our first goal finally came off of a short corner with Susie flicking it… that ended up saved…again, but Emma Preston was there to get the rebound and put it into the back of the net bringing us to 1-0
However Marlow made a break and equalised just before half time

After a talking down from Marc and despite no sweets at half time we came out fighting and were all over them but unfortunately they found a break and scored a second goal. We had a small interlude of Marc being told off by the umpire for asking PC Olah if she’d brought her warrant card after a particularly terrible tackle which probably led to one of the Marlow players getting their green card a few minutes later after he had sufficiently riled up the umpire. We were determined not to lose and spent the remainder of the half in their D again and after what felt like a thousand short corners and near misses, Niamh scored an absolute screamer off a short left in our final short, equalising 2-2

As we were celebrating the final whistle went - securing us a point
