M3s in Last Gasp Draw to Marlow

The M3s entertained Marlow M2s at home in a fierce and eagerly anticipated clash. Hawks started out very well, extinguishing any Marlow attack while creating chances, and were unlucky not to go ahead early.
Marlow went 0-1 up very much against the run of play, despite some great efforts from Phil Hargraves to keep Marlow at bay. Hawks then equalised through Jacky Smart after some well worked balls in and around the Marlow 25. Hawks’ second goal then came soon after with Jason Allen ripping through the net from a penalty corner.
The second half brought the same tempo and intensity that the M3s have very much installed throughout this season – again creating chances with players such as Matt Northfield, Felix Morrison and JLS running amok. A second goal from Marlow brought the game back onto equal terms, with time running out for Hawks to search for a winner. That third goal game – again from Jacky Smart with a well-placed deflection after a monstrous strike from Duncan Parry. Hawks only needed to see the game out, but ultimately ran out of legs and Marlow equalised to leave the tie at 3-3.
