Ladies’ 5s beat Bicester

The team came out positively, looking for the win. We started strongly and within two minutes nearly scored. At the end of the first quarter, we were awarded a short corner and Charlotte scored from a deflection.  We had the majority of possession, but Bicester became more dominant towards the end of the first half. Our defence put in some great tackles and a strong performance against several short corners.

In the second half, the game remained tight, with both teams competing hard. The game turned, when Kate sent a great ball in along the baseline and Sherene made an amazing shot on goal and scored from an incredibly tight angle. The goal must be a contender for goal of the season! As the game drew on Bicester attacked hard but the defence remained solid including a great clearance from Carys just in front of the goal. We continued to do some good triangular passing up the pitch and had several balls going into the D. As the game drew to a close, Hawks were awarded another short corner and Holly scored on a rebound - her third goal in three matches. Final score was a well-deserved 3-0.
