The 7s took to the field for their first league match of the season meeting Aylesbury under the bright afternoon sun.

With Aylesbury choosing to switch ends, the 7s were faced with having to face the sun’s rays. A solid centre charge from Polly started the game and for the most part, the teams were pretty level.

Aylesbury managed to sneak one on past Emily during the first half which saw Hawks fighting back to draw. That goal came from Jasmijn into the second half of the match. The resounding sound of the ball connecting with the back board saw their spirits raise with the team making cleaner and more solid connections between them.

All in all, we came away with a draw!

There were nominations for Player of the match for Emily, Laura, and Charlotte but the joint winners were Mariella, who had an excellent game as right mid, playing with skill and energy, and Pollyanna, who was very useful in midfield with her great speed and effectiveness.
