Season 2024-2025
W6s show that experience over youth can win games.

Ahead of the first friendly against local opposition the key question was would the 6s have a full starting 11. And thanks to Becky Brodie’s last minute ’were we still short?’ question we were able to line up with 11, although no subs, to face St Edwards 2s - all 16/17 of them. From the start the 6s agreed to hold shape, let the ball do the work and use our hockey years of experience to outwit the fast moving and more youthful Teddies team (with plenty of subs)! With connections made and the knowledge that we had to pace ourselves for a full game, it wasn’t long before Linda scored the opening goal, followed by a second scored by Hannah to give the 6s a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Despite the 6s maintaining forward pressure, which included a number of short corners, Teddies kept a clean sheet in the second half. The 6s defence were also ready to handle any fast moving Teddies breaks so the final score remained at 2-0 to Hawks.
Joint players of the match were Olin and Calla
Thanks also to Cat for her side line support and taking some excellent photos!
