W2s draw against Amersham & Chalfont

W2s draw against Amersham & Chalfont

Published on 07th Mar, 2026

Entering the final games of the season, Hawks travelled to Amersham and Chalfont, aiming to build on their previous 2-2 draw.

Amersham started strongly in the first quarter. Player of the match Amy Olah put in some crucial tackles and Hawks were able to build some positive possession. Towards the end of the first quarter, a Hawks short corner created the best chance of the first period, narrowly going past the far post.

Building on this momentum, Hawks started the second quarter strongly with great balls down the line from Henri, Phoebe and Flora for our forwards to run onto. An attack from Amersham resulted in a well-worked short corner and Hawks went into the break 1-0 down.

Following some inspirational words from Scraggle and some Haribo sour mix, we started the third quarter with more intent. Some lovely passing play through the middle from Jossy, created a short-corner opportunity. Smithers fired a straight-strike at the left post, which Reaney deflected to beat the keeper.

The rest of the second half was competitive with Bex, Kirby and Rosie strong in the middle and Freya making some crucial saves. The game opened up and Hawks created a number of opportunities with some silky skills from Libby and Bea and Kathryn and Tiny connecting well up front.

Unfortunately we weren’t able to capitalise on the opportunities we created and the game finished 1-1 draw.
