Season 2022-2023
Ladies’ 8s start too slowly
Published on 06th Feb, 2023
Thame got off to great start with an early goal! The ladies 8’s however, had sleepy first few minutes but quickly gained back possession of the ball with several short corners. One lead to a penalty flick, which was taken by Hannah, but was well defended by our opposition. Just before the half time whistle blew, Rebecca sadly took a nasty high stick to the cheek, which was a shock for everyone and resulted in a trip the A&E. A big thanks to Deborah, Laura and Kim for helping Rebecca out.
With no time to have an in-depth team chat during the break, we moved into the second half.
It was a much more even second half, full of good passes and some lovely runs from our inners and midfielders, but sadly no further goals were scored. Despite some fantastic saves in the last few minutes from our goalkeeper Mia and some excellent shots from our forwards, when the whistle blew it was still 1-0 to Thame.
Nominations for player of the match included Kimberely, Mia, Hannah, Oling and Laura but our player of the match this week was Molly who had plenty of fantastic shots on goal!
Many thanks to Simon Aumonier for the excellent photos.
