Ladies’ 7s lose to Oxford 7s

On a cold and sunny morning, Ladies’ 7s played Oxford 7s.  This match was postponed from early December.  Our team started strongly, and we were unlucky not to score in the first minute.  Then later in the half Oxford won a short corner and Evelyn got to the high ball with her stick but it still went in the goal.  Then our attack went well, and we finished with a strike by Sarah right in the far corner of the goal.  The score at half time was 2 – 1 to Oxford.

We discussed the need to maintain our shape and to keep possession and went out again for the second half.  There was lots of great hockey but we still could not score.  Oxford got two more and then right at the end of the game, Live got a great goal.  So the final score was 4 – 2 to Oxford.

There were nominations for Player of the Match for Kim, Gemma, Anoushka and Jacqui but the winner was Huei who played extremely well and ran all over the place.
