Oxford Hawks Men’s 7’s vs Aylesbury’s Development – 21.09.24

First league match, against the newly promoted development team.

First 20mins saw M7 put under pressure from an eager team keen to make their mark in their new league. After a couple of attacks on goal which were well defended by new keeper Damon the M7 sorted themselves out and started to push into Aylesbury’s half. The front line putting into practice lessons from training to put pressure on Aylesbury defenders, coming close several times. Persistent payed off with a great goal from Samuel. First half finished well with Aylesbury consistently pinned down in their half by a well organised press.

2nd half started well, all we needed was that 2nd goal. We didn’t have to wait long , Sutcliffe senior obliging. Now the 7s were on a roll, Ash notched up a 2nd, then assisted Aylesbury with a home goal. Aylesbury pushed back several times but M7 defended well directed from the back by Chris O , Blommers, Billers, Watson and Stoker using their years of experience to keep Aylesbury away from any shots on goal. Mid field worked really hard with Ash, Image, Graham and Oli working back when needed then pushing forward creating great plays and numerous attacks on the Aylesbury goal.

Well played M7’s well deserved win.
