Season 2022-2023
Ladies’ 5s continue to progress as a team
Published on 13th Nov, 2022
The Ladies 5 travelled to Milton Keynes on Saturday, and we were prepared for a tough game. We started strong with excellent passing and tackling demonstrated by all players in the first 35 minutes. Milton Keynes were feeling the pressure as we had a number of strong attacking opportunities midway through the first half. We were unlucky to concede a goal just before the end of the half.
Early in the second half we conceded our second goal but fought hard and near the end of the half excellent play by Sherene saw us score, bringing the score to 2-1.
A few mistakes saw us concede 3 further goals within the last 10 minutes, disappointingly brining the final score to 5-1.
Susan, Charlotte, Sherene, Lizzie, Lydia and Holly all had nominations for player of the match, but joint winners were Lydia and Holly - Lydia for her excellent position holding in centre half and Holly for her strong play in the inner line despite normally playing half back.
