Published on 09th Oct, 2023
The game started with an unlucky early goal from the opposition. Yateley continued to press hard leading to a few shorts that Hawks defended well. We started warming into the match making some lovely runs and one of these led to a goal as Sherene made a beautiful cross into the D which Chloe put into the net. Hawks started playing some lovely passing hockey and we got our 1st short after a great run from Emily, which Caz calmly flicked into the net. Another short came a few minutes later and after a few passes the ball came to Masha who struck it into the goal from the edge of the D. It was 3-1 up at HT after an intense 35 minutes.
The second half started strongly with H having multiple shots on goal but nothing would go in with the Yateley goalie making some great saves. Yateley wom several shorts in the second half which were strongly defended by Tehya's excellent saves. In the final 15 mins Yateley pulled back a goal. However, Hawks responded strongly and picked up the pace. After a great run by Chloe through the middle, she found Kim unmarked in the D who put it in the net. The final 5 minutes continued at a fast pace before the final whistle went with a well earned 4-2 win for Hawks!
