Season 2022-2023
Ladies’ 2s haven’t a problem with Havant
Published on 22nd Nov, 2022
Hawks hosted Havant who were struggling at the wrong end of the table, but Hawks knew that they weren't going to be a pushover after a couple of close games last season. The Ladies 2s were also missing Coach Wilko, who was busy cuddling her new baby Alfie (awwwww), co-Skipper Scragg, who was busy heading to Wales with the Ladies 1s, and co-Skipper Harri who was busy nursing a dodgy knee. So former skipper Helen dusted off her captain's armband and the game got underway. Slightly hazy on the details, but it was 1-0 at halftime after Katie volleyed in a deflected cross from Henri.
Second half was a whole different cup of tea. Hawks dominated the possession and left Lydia a mere spectator in the Hawks goal. Soon it was 2-0, and by the end of the game it was 6-0 and was all fairly straightforward. Felt a bit like England-Iran except we didn't let any in. Katie got a nice tidy hat-trick, Sandra (on her return from a nasty knee injury) got one, as did Odders and Kathryn. Player of the Game duly went to Katie for her prowess in front of goal. DoD for Minners for a slight wardrobe fail during the week.
