Season 2022-2023
L6s unable to hold on to first half lead against Abingdon 1s
Published on 03rd Dec, 2022
The Ladies’ 6s played a nail biting, high scoring game on Saturday against Abingdon 1s. The 6s went off to a flying start with Polly scoring a hat trick in the first half; the first superbly fed by Emily and Nynke, the 2nd expertly delivered from Linda and Ella, and the 3rd from a successful short corner. With heads up high Hawks played together brilliantly, making space and displaying great passing.
However, never has ‘game of two halves’ been more appropriate! After half time Abingdon 1s steeled themselves and played a very aggressive game. Despite excellent defence by Hawks Abingdon’s accuracy on goal gave them the advantage with a flurry of goals, taking the final score to 6-3 to Abingdon 1s. Emily very deservedly was voted player of the match.
