Season 2022-2023
L5s meet Yately at home
Published on 20th Nov, 2022
It was a lovely sunny autumnal day when L5s met top of the league Yateley at home.
Some excellent play from the whole team saw us go into the lead when Holly slipped the ball past the keeper from a short corner. The look of shock on Holly’s face could be seen from space. Yateley could have equalised when they were awarded a penalty stroke. From the sideline however, Char’s magic South African spirit fingers saved the moment as Charlie saved the penalty stroke. So, an amazing effort all round (see Figure 1) meant we were leading (yes leading!) 1-0 at half-time.
But, it is a game of 2 halves and unfortunately, we couldn’t keep the pace up. We conceded 2 goals in the 2nd half leaving us trailing 2 goals to 1 at the final whistle.
It was a great team effort but special mention to MOM Charlie and brownie points to Susan for providing half-time oranges in a re-usable Tupperware tub.
Match statistics and team performance are shown in the figures below. The effort put in by team members is shown in Figure 1 while Figure 2 shows the decibels that could be heard from the captain as a function of time. Finally, Figure 3 shows statistics from the match as a percentage of total. Raw numbers are given in the figure as text.
