Harriers in brilliant game against Abingdon

Harriers 3-0 Abingdon Development

The Harriers faced Abingdon Development in a late pushback at BRN - with a blended team of U12s, U14s and players from the Women’s 1s and 2s. It was a brilliant game, with the girls playing some superbly composed hockey all over the pitch. The forward line of Daisy, Holly, Anoushka and Rosie constantly put the Abingdon back line under huge pressure, which resulted in a lot of successful turnover high up the pitch. The midfield of Ella, Isla A, Reaney and Lily were outstanding, providing a lot of great balls up to the forwards, and also stopping Abingdon coming through the middle. And the back line of Isla G, Josie, Sally and Apples were superb, not just in their defending but also in their distribution from the back. Anna in goal kept an excellent clean sheet too, with a little help from the crossbar too! The goals came from Ella, Daisy and Holly, and the Player of the Match award was presented by the opposition to Isla Gage, who demonstrated class and composure beyond her years at the back.

A brilliant game, with the girls making huge improvements from the first quarter to the last! We look forward to more matches like this next season!
