Women’s 4s beat Milton Keynes

'Twas a wet day on the outskirts of Oxford as a spirited Milton Keynes were sent back to roundabout town with nothing to show for their efforts. The Hawks team started well and pressed high up the pitch, rewarded early on with a neat finish from Erin after good team play. Bea doubled the lead following in her own shot and Masha made it 3-0 at half time with a superb solo goal.

The team continued to push in the 2nd half and had several periods of strong pressure, stretching the pitch. Masha added the 4th and her second goal driving into the D and finishing well, Bea added her 2nd and the team’s 5th with a neat finish into the bottom corner. As MK tired, Hawks continued to push and Masha claimed her hattrick weaving into the D and slotting in with the last play of the game.

Defensively the team were solid, marshalled well by Claire, Sue and Effie limiting MK to half chances and defending well . A strong start to the season with a 6-0 win, up the 4’s!
