Oxford Hawks Ladies’ 5’s Vs Aylesbury 2’s – 02.11.24

Drizzling, we all met in the changing rooms for an inspiring team talk by Susan, who gave us our aims for the match. We ventured onto the pitch and Catherine led a lovely warm up accompanied by anoushka’s speaker.
Aylesbury had first push back but we quickly managed to gain possession and some really good passing play set Sherene  up for the first goal just seven minutes in.  We were put under a little pressure in the second quarter but our defenders prevented much entry into our D; we continued to work harder through passing play and again Sherene scored again right before half time at 33’ with anamazing assist from Caris who had an extremely impressive game - she  assisted all the goals and was player of the match runner up.

After a very informative halftime chat, we started with the ball and five minutes in Anoushka scored a lovely tap in from the Penalty spot supported by a beautiful ball from Caris. Just five minutes later sherene goes in for a whirlie shot  through the keepers legs to secure the 4-0 win . Everyone played amazing with jane hitting some amazing balls down the wing and calla driving it right up to the D when needed.

There were many nominations for POM including Kelly, Jane, Anoushka, Laura, Calla, Minty, Caris and Sherene but after a discussion over delicious cakes ( thanks Phil) the hat trick  secured it for
sherene!
