Ladies’ 7s lose with only 10 players at Milton Keynes

It was a dry Saturday for an away game at Milton Keynes (a very experienced team, currently 2nd in the league), we were wearing white shirts sponsored by our very own Helen Wright. Unfortunately Helen herself was ill and unable to play herself so we were down to 10 players.

We started brightly, holding them back for 15-20 minutes before their first goal went in. Their link up play with their one man up advantage finally succeeded. The whole team played very well against the argumentative opposition (who were even arguing among themselves) letting an attack come through ending with a short corner. The attack had some great moves getting around their defence and were dangerous in their D but unfortunately failed to score.

By half time it was 3-0 to them and even after playing a great second half the match ended 7-0 to the opposition. Nominated for the player of the match were Huei, Charlotte, Anoushka but the player of the match was won by Helena, our goalkeeper who had an outstanding game.
