Season 2022-2023
Ladies’ 7s in good game v Kidlington
Published on 25th Feb, 2023
Firstly, it must be said that the final score does not represent the quality of play from Hawks. It was a well-balanced match but Kidlington had a couple of lucky goals and a few more subs which gave them the upper hand.
Hawks started strongly with the first goal in the first 20 minutes. It was a wonderful run by Nina and the perfect slip to Helen for a great finish. Sadly, our defence with no subs was getting tired by the end of the first half and Kidlington managed to go 3-1 up.
However, the second half was strong by Hawks again and there was some wonderful saves by Daisy. Deborah’s experience showed as she stopped a ball going in right on the line! All the ladies thoroughly enjoyed the game and were proud of our play despite the end result.
Everyone showed skill which is reflected in nominations for Ros, Daisy, Emmy, Hannah and Ester for player of the match. However joint top performances went to Nina and Deborah. Amazing Ladies!!!!!
A massive Thank you to our captain Charlotte who held the team together throughout and as always played beautifully!
