Ladies’ 7s in first win of the season!

We started strongly. We thought Sarah Rowe had got a goal, but it was disallowed for a foot. Then Flora passed up the right to Anoushka on the 25-yard line. She took it in to the circle and shot beautifully into the bottom left of the goal. A bit later Huei passed across the D. Helen dived enthusiastically for the ball, she quickly pushed it towards the goal and Ros tapped it in. We were 2 – 0 up!
In the second half, they came back hard and there were some close calls in defence. The opposition became annoyed and started complaining to the umpire. Wychwood got one back, but much to their dismay, we prevented them scoring again. The final score was 2-1 to the delight of all our players.
There were nominations for player of the match for Anoushka, Helena, Ros, Huei and Deborah. However, the winner was Phillippa who had an excellent game with on target passes and boundless energy.
