Season 2022-2023
Ladies’ 5s success v South Berkshire
Published on 17th Jan, 2023
The L5s finally got a home match after what seems like an age! We were keen to get another win under our belt after a poor start to the second half of the season last week. We started with the objective of getting and keeping possession - simple - but has eluded us in some matches. We managed that pretty well but S. Berks 3s were hard on us and were making many of the 50/50 balls theirs. Despite a number of chances in the first half we were unable to score, but nor did S Berks 3s despite a number of short corners.
The half time chat focused on the basics and wanting to win. We felt we were the stronger side, but we needed to try harder as S Berks 3s seemed to want the ball more than us. Thankfully, we managed to put that into practice for a much improved second half. Finally in the third quarter we managed to score which was followed up 10 minutes later by a second. The match ended 2-0 to us.
There were a number of people nominated for player of the match, but Susie got most votes for excellent defensive play.
