Ladies’ 5s lose to Leighton Buzzard

Unfortunately we didn't start well at all, conceding 3 goals in the first quarter. All these goals were well executed, either from a short corner or simple fast turnover followed by an overload in the D but we just weren’t vigilant in our defending and possession.  We finally settled down and started to make some nice connections up the pitch, but kept getting caught in channels by the opposition actively pressing all over the pitch, However the second quarter did see some attempts on goal.

After a positive half time chat, we focused on the basics of possession and the second half saw us come out much more aggressively and we dominated a lot of the play. We secured a number of short corners, one of which we scored through working the ball around the D for it to be deflected into the goal on the post. The rest of the half we worked hard as a team and despite a lot of pressure in the opponents D we were unable to score again and ended with a 3-1 loss. Newcomer Flora was PoM for her hard work in the mid field.
