Season 2024-2025
Mark Jarvis – umpire and friend of Hawks
Published on 18th Sep, 2024
With huge sadness, we are sharing the terrible news that the much respected umpire, friend and member of the Hawks and hockey community Mark Jarvis died suddenly last week.
Just a few days ago, Jarvy was presented with the NPUA (National Programme Umpiring Association) Umpire Support Award at their annual gala dinner and he is a huge loss to the game of hockey. A minute’s silence was held in tribute before the women’s 1s vs 2s game last weekend, and at Hawks we will reflect on further ways to both mourn Jarvy’s loss and reflect on his valuable contribution to our community.
Everyone at Hawks sends our deepest condolences to his family at this very sad time. You are in our thoughts.
